Before their beautiful wedding at Mythe Barn, I met up with Joe & Abbi for a relaxed pre wedding photography session in the countryside near Loughborough.
We started the morning at Quorn & Woodhouse Station, one of the most characterful locations in Leicestershire for a relaxed engagement shoot. From the very beginning, both Joe & Abbi felt completely natural in front of the camera, which made photographing them together incredibly easy and enjoyable. Joe even mentioned that he had modelled as a child in Asia, which probably explained how comfortable he looked throughout the session.
After spending some time around the station, we continued the shoot in nearby countryside fields where we were unexpectedly joined by a curious herd of sheep wanting to be part of the photographs. Those unplanned moments always end up becoming some of my favourite parts of a session.
RELAXED LOUGHBOROUGH PRE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
One of the things I enjoy most about pre wedding photography is how relaxed everything feels compared to a wedding day timeline. It gives couples the chance to slow down, spend time together naturally, and become comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding itself.
The soft morning light, countryside surroundings, and calm atmosphere all helped create natural photographs that genuinely reflected Joe & Abbi’s personalities and connection together.
I was already looking forward to documenting their wedding day at Mythe Barn after this session, and it was great to reconnect with them again for their celebrations later on.

Spending time together before the wedding day also helped create a stronger connection and level of trust, which always makes the documentary approach on the actual wedding day feel even more natural and relaxed. Sessions like this are never about stiff posing, but simply about capturing real moments together in a calm environment.
