Relaxed Sunrise Couple Photography in Barcelona
Light plays a huge role in photography, and one of my favourite parts of any portrait session is finding the best natural light possible for my couples. For this Barcelona couple shoot with Slava & Alina, that meant an early sunrise start through the quiet streets of the city.
While waking up before sunrise may not sound appealing at first, the soft morning light and peaceful atmosphere made it completely worth the effort. Sunrise in Barcelona gave us beautiful golden light, long shadows, and empty streets before the city became busy later in the morning.
Rather than photographing during sunset alongside crowds of tourists, we decided a sunrise session would allow the shoot to feel far more relaxed and natural.
THE SHOOT
Like many couples I photograph, Slava & Alina wanted the session to feel relaxed and genuine rather than overly posed. The quiet streets and soft light helped create a calm atmosphere throughout the shoot while allowing natural moments to unfold between them.
Alina is also a professional wedding photographer herself, which made the session incredibly easy and enjoyable. I was able to focus almost entirely on composition, light, and storytelling while they naturally interacted together in front of the camera.
One of the things I enjoyed most about this Barcelona couple shoot was the atmosphere created by the early morning light throughout the city. The soft tones, quiet streets, and relaxed pace of the session helped create photographs that felt timeless, natural, and authentic.
