Efra & Damaris’ Spain engagement photography session was photographed during one of the most beautiful sunsets I can remember. Somewhere between Spain and Portugal, we spent the evening exploring the countryside while creating relaxed and natural photographs together as the sun disappeared behind the hills.
Although this shoot took place a few years ago now, I still remember the incredible golden light and calm atmosphere throughout the session. The soft sunset tones, open landscapes, and relaxed pace made it the perfect setting for natural documentary style engagement photography.
One of the nicest parts about this shoot was that Efra & Damaris are also good friends of mine, which made everything feel incredibly easy and comfortable from the beginning. Nothing felt forced or overly posed. Instead, the session simply focused on capturing genuine connection, movement, and natural moments together.
RELAXED DESTINATION ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY
Pre wedding and engagement photography sessions like this are always less about posing and more about creating an experience together. The best photographs often happen naturally during conversation, movement, and the quieter moments in between.
As the sun dropped lower into the hills, the light became softer and more cinematic, creating some of my favourite portraits from the entire session. The combination of warm evening light and the relaxed energy between them made this engagement shoot feel effortless from start to finish.
One of the things I enjoy most about destination engagement photography is how relaxed everything becomes once couples forget about the camera completely. Without the structure or timeline of a wedding day, there’s more freedom to explore different locations naturally while simply enjoying the experience together.
