Sri Lankan Wedding Photography | Dimuthu & Kumudi

Dimuthu & Kumudi’s Sri Lankan wedding photography story brought together two relaxed days of celebrations across Kettering and Corby filled with genuine moments, emotional family connections, and traditional multicultural wedding celebrations.

This British Sri Lankan couple wanted their wedding photography to feel natural and genuine while still capturing the traditions and atmosphere of their multicultural wedding celebrations. Earlier in the year, we had already spent time together during their pre-wedding shoot at Durdle Door in Dorset, which made the wedding day itself feel incredibly relaxed from the very beginning.

The church ceremony took place at St Edward’s Church in Kettering surrounded by close family and friends. After exchanging rings and officially becoming husband and wife, the couple were welcomed outside with cheers, applause, and blessings from their loved ones before continuing the celebrations with traditional Sri Lankan refreshments nearby.

A RELAXED TWO DAY WEDDING CELEBRATION

One of my favourite parts of the day was photographing the couple portraits at Wicksteed Park. Despite the busy surroundings, the atmosphere stayed relaxed and fun throughout the shoot, with plenty of laughter involving both the couple and their families.

One of the things I enjoyed most throughout both days was how relaxed everything felt around the couple. As a Leicester Asian wedding photographer with a documentary approach, I always focus on capturing genuine moments naturally without making the day feel overly staged or interrupted. From emotional family interactions during the ceremony to the laughter and energy during the reception, the entire wedding felt personal, welcoming, and full of life.

The following day, the celebrations continued with a colourful Sri Lankan wedding reception in Corby. With traditional outfits, dancing, emotional speeches, and vibrant cultural moments throughout the evening, the reception brought a completely different energy to the wedding story while still feeling incredibly personal and welcoming.

Here are a few highlights from Dimuthu & Kumudi’s beautiful Sri Lankan wedding celebration.
