Frequently asked questions

Wedding Photographer Questions

wedding photographer LeicesterFAQ

How much do you charge?

For a full day’s wedding Coverage, from morning preparations to midnight, it’s £1800 (up to 14 hours of coverage). You can view my INVESTMENT page for more information on my half-day rates and hourly rates.

Why must we sign a contract for your Wedding?

A contract has all the details about what you’re getting in your photography package, so there are no nasty surprises. Our Contracts will contain all contact information and will act as a receipt for your deposit. A contract makes everything official.

How far do you travel?

I would happily travel anywhere in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire; I also accept assignments nationwide. You can even book me for your destination wedding –  I won’t say no! A fee of £0.50p per mile will apply for anywhere further than 35 miles from Leicester by car, and flights to your wedding are at cost.

You hate your photos being taken!

You’re not the only one, I am a friendly person, and I will put you at ease with some helpful cheekiness. I also include a pre-wedding photoshoot in my packages (an optional extra for £300) a month or so before your wedding. The idea is that this helps you learn to relax before the camera and enjoy the big day.

Do you offer Wedding Videography?

YES! See my INVESTMENT page for the packages I offer.

What Gear do you use?

While I take pride and am confident that the tools I use produce excellent results, I have invested heavily in my equipment, and it had taken me many years to acquire the gear I use today.

You can see what gear I use on my page HERE.

How long does it take until I receive my final photos?

It usually takes 10 to 12 weeks to deliver the final wedding photos, depending on the time of year and how busy I am. I aim to get the photos over to you as quickly as possible. I usually send over a sneak peek of a few images several days after the wedding. If you order a Wedding album from me, it takes 12 to 16 weeks.

How many final photographs will I receive?

For a full day’s wedding coverage, I would try and deliver at least 400 to 500 final images, and each image will be individually retouched by myself to the highest possible standard. You will receive them in a custom USB and a downloadable online gallery. You will have the License to print as and when you want.

Are you insured?

Yes, all my gear is insured, and I do have public liability insurance.

Do you have backup gear?

Lots! I usually take three professional full-frame cameras to every wedding. As well as extra memory cards, lenses, flashes, and batteries.

Do you use an assistant / Second Shooter?

I usually do not use a second photographer, but I would recommend a second shooter for a bigger wedding. I can provide a qualified professional second photographer for £500.

Do you provide photos in colour or black & white?

Both. I will edit your photos individually and very carefully. From my experience, I will know if a picture will look better in colour or black & white.

Do you mind wedding guests taking photos at the same time as you?

I have no problem with guests taking photos — they want to capture their memories. But blocking my view can have a negative influence on the pictures and guests taking shots over my shoulders during group photos can also confuse and make people look in different directions.

So how do I book?

Glad you asked! I was hoping you could drop me an email on the contact form or give me a call on 07474 290320 to discuss your day. If we’re all happy, I require a booking fee of 50% and a returned signed contract from you, both of which I do electronically. The remaining balance is then due seven days before your wedding.
