Wedding Photographer Questions
FAQ for Your Wedding Photographer
As a passionate wedding photographer, my goal is to capture the unforgettable moments of your special day. Below are some frequently asked questions about my services:
How much do you charge?
For a full day’s wedding coverage, from morning preparations to midnight, it’s £1800 (up to 14 hours of coverage). You can view my Investment Page for more information on my half-day rates and hourly rates.
Why must we sign a contract for your wedding photography services?
A contract outlines everything included in your wedding photography package, ensuring there are no surprises. It contains all contact information and serves as a receipt for your deposit. This agreement makes everything official.
How far do you travel for wedding photography?
I happily travel anywhere in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, and Derbyshire. Additionally, I accept assignments nationwide. You can even book me for your destination wedding – I won’t say no! For distances beyond 35 miles from Leicester, a fee of £0.50 per mile applies, and flights to your wedding are charged at cost.
What if I hate having my photo taken?
You’re not alone. I am friendly and will help put you at ease with some lightheartedness. Additionally, I include a pre-wedding photoshoot in my packages (optional extra for £300) about a month before your wedding. This helps you relax in front of the camera and enjoy your big day.
Equipment and Backup
What gear do you use for wedding photography?
I take pride in using high-quality tools that produce excellent results. Over the years, I have invested heavily in my equipment. You can see the gear I use on my Gear Page.
Do you have backup gear for wedding photography?
Yes, I take three professional full-frame cameras to every wedding, along with extra memory cards, lenses, flashes, and batteries.
Photo Delivery and Quality
How long does it take until I receive my final wedding photos?
It typically takes 8 to 10 weeks to deliver the final wedding photos, depending on the time of year and my schedule. I aim to get the photos to you as quickly as possible. I usually send a sneak peek of a few images within several days after the wedding. If you order a wedding album from me, it takes 12 to 16 weeks.
How many final photographs will I receive from my wedding photographer?
For a full day’s wedding coverage, I aim to deliver at least 500 to 600 final images. I individually retouch each image to the highest standard. You will receive them on a custom USB and in a downloadable online gallery. You will have the license to print them as and when you want.
Insurance and Additional Services
Are you insured as a wedding photographer?
Yes, all my gear is insured, and I have public liability insurance.
Do you use an assistant or second shooter for wedding photography?
I usually do not use a second photographer, but I recommend one for larger weddings. I can provide a qualified second photographer for £500.
Editing and Guest Participation
Do you provide photos in colour or black & white?
Both. I edit your photos individually and carefully. From my experience, I can determine if a picture will look better in colour or black & white.
Do you mind wedding guests taking photos at the same time as you?
I have no problem with guests taking photos. However, blocking my view can negatively impact the pictures. Guests taking shots over my shoulder during group photos can also confuse and make people look in different directions.
Booking Information
How do I book a wedding photographer?
I’m glad you asked! Please drop me an email via the contact form or call me at 07474 290320 to discuss your day. If we’re all happy, I require a booking fee of 25% and a signed contract from you, both of which I handle electronically. The remaining balance is due seven days before your wedding.
