The ceremony and portraits took place inside the elegant ballroom spaces at City Rooms Leicester. The classic interiors, soft natural light, and timeless atmosphere created the perfect setting for relaxed portraits and natural documentary wedding photography.

One of my favourite things about smaller civil ceremonies is the slower pace of the day. As a result, everyone has more time to enjoy each moment naturally. This often leads to more genuine interactions between couples, friends, and family throughout the celebrations.

James & Neha stayed completely present throughout the day, which made everything feel effortless to photograph. Nothing felt overly posed or forced. Instead, the day was filled with relaxed moments together surrounded by the people closest to them.

After spending some time upstairs for portraits, the celebrations continued with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Meanwhile, guests enjoyed the elegant surroundings and spent time together throughout the day. The ballroom spaces also created a timeless backdrop for both portraits and documentary moments.

Although this civil ceremony formed part of a larger multi-day wedding celebration, it still had its own unique atmosphere. The day felt elegant, personal, and full of genuine emotion from beginning to end. In addition, the quieter pace allowed emotional reactions and natural moments to unfold organically between family and friends.

One of the things I really like about Glenfield Registry Office is how easy and relaxed the experience feels for couples and guests. In addition, there is always parking available nearby. This makes arrivals far less stressful, especially for smaller family weddings and civil ceremonies.

After the ceremony, the nearby grounds work really well for relaxed portraits. There are plenty of quiet areas for natural photographs, even with limited time available. Because of this, couples can enjoy portraits without needing to travel elsewhere.

Mythe Barn Wedding Venue is an exclusive gem situated in Sheepy Magna, Atherstone. As a purpose-built venue in the Midlands, it combines rustic charm with contemporary elegance, making it perfect for any couple’s big day.

The Wedding Experience

I had been looking forward to working at this venue, and my experience here didn’t disappoint at Joe and Abbi‘s wedding. The beautifully designed buildings offer a blend of rustic and modern aesthetics, providing a photographer’s dream with ample natural light throughout.

The setting for the wedding ceremony was at the Oak Barn. With its simple decor, grey limestone floor, and solid oak frames reaching two stories high, the barn boasts beautiful light through full-height windows and skylights. This natural illumination makes it an excellent venue for capturing breathtaking ceremony pictures.

Set amidst 150 acres of Leicestershire countryside, Mythe Barn overlooks rolling hills and meadows, offering a fairy-tale setting. The venue provides various ceremony options, from the stunning oak beams of the indoor space to the picturesque outdoor gardens.

The staff at Mythe Barn are welcoming, attentive, and friendly. The catering is another standout aspect, featuring exceptional dining options ranging from formal wedding breakfasts to relaxed barbecues and street food in The Courtyard.

Hello, I liked to share one of my Winter weddings in 2018.
Richard & Laura had a small civil ceremony at the Glenfield registry office and then an intimate reception at the Winstanley house.

Winstanley house is a lovely boutique hotel and event venue in Leicester. As an expertly restored historic building. It includes all the conveniences from a modern venue while retaining the charm, class and elegance of a stately home.

As it was a winter wedding in December, it was already dark before we had time to do the couple portraits. But the artificial lights at the venue allowed us to try some night portraits outside.
