Natalie & Joe’s wedding was a relaxed and personal celebration photographed by a Leicester documentary wedding photographer across two beautiful Leicestershire locations.
Their day began with a woodland humanist ceremony at Scraptoft Hill Farm, just outside Leicester, surrounded by close family, friends, and nature. The outdoor setting created such a calm atmosphere for the ceremony and suited documentary wedding photography perfectly.
One of the things I enjoyed most about their wedding was how naturally everything unfolded throughout the day. There was no pressure for endless posing or interruptions — just genuine moments, conversations, laughter, and people fully enjoying the celebration together.
Before the ceremony, guests spent time relaxing outdoors with drinks in the fields surrounding the woodland. Joe & Natalie had also arranged a bus to take everyone to Foxton Village Hall for the evening reception, which became a memorable part of the day itself.
I travelled on the bus with the guests, photographing everything naturally as it happened. People were laughing, chatting, and playing games throughout the journey, which created so many genuine documentary moments between the larger parts of the wedding day.
Once everyone arrived at Foxton Village Hall, the celebrations continued with food, speeches, drinks, and a ceilidh later in the evening. The atmosphere throughout the reception felt warm, relaxed, and welcoming, with guests fully immersed in every part of the day.
Weddings like Natalie & Joe’s are always a reminder that the best photographs often come from real moments rather than constant posing. From the woodland ceremony through to the celebrations in Foxton, the entire day felt personal, meaningful, and completely true to them as a couple.
